Channel 3 and Partners Deliver the First Model House under the Green Shelter Project to a Disaster Victim

On 3 April 2023, Channel 3, one of the partners in “The Green Shelter Project for Friends in Need (of “Pa”) Volunteers Foundation” joined the donation ceremony to deliver the first model house built from recycled beverage cartons under the Green Shelter Project to a disaster victim at Song Phi Nong District, Suphanburi Province. In this regard, the key founding partners, namely Friends in Need (of “Pa”) Volunteers Foundation, Thai Red Cross Society; the Relief and Community Health Bureau, Thai Red Cross Society; Department of Environmental Quality Promotion under Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment; Tetra Pak (Thailand) Limited, as well as BJC Big C Group, Central Pattana Public Company Limited, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, and 360 Degree Entertainment (TV 360 news) joined the event.

The Green Shelter Project aims at encouraging the collection of used beverage cartons and recycling them to create new construction materials such as roof sheet, fiber cement board, wall board, door frames, and window frames. These materials are then provided to help building new homes for the victims of natural disasters. The Green Shelter Project continues the success of the Green Roof Project which is set to run from 1 September 2022 until 31 August 2025. The Green Shelter Project aims to collect 10 million used beverage cartons this year. The persons who are interested in donating used beverage cartons to the project can do at “drop-off” stations at all Big C Super Centers nationwide, Bangchak Gas Stations in Bangkok, as well as Central Department Stores.

Mr. Charkrit Direkwattanachai, BEC’s EVP – Office of Corporate and Communications Affairs; Mr. Dhitiwat Wongwannakul, Committee and General Manager of Friends in Need (of “Pa”) Volunteers Foundation, Thai Red Cross Society; Mr. Nattapat Suwanprateep, Governor of Suphanburi Province; Mr. Patinya Silsupadol, Head of Sustainability - Tetra Pak (Thailand) Limited and other representatives joined the ceremony to deliver “house” construction materials including 32 roof sheets, 19 wall boards, 15 fiber cement boards, 2 door frames and 1 window frame to a disaster victim at Bangkum Subdistrict, Song Phi Nong District, Suphanburi Province.

Channel 3 strives to participated in the communication and public relations support for the project to build awareness and participation in collecting the used beverage cartons, donating and recycling them to create new construction materials to the disaster victims in order to support the social and environmental sustainability in the country.
