May 15, 2000 To : President Stock Exchange of Thailand Re : Submission of financial statements for the 1st quarter of 2000 and explanation on the difference over 20 per cent from the same period last year. Enclosures : Financial statements for the 1st quarter of 2000. We are sending you herewith the enclosed financial statement of the Company and the consolidated statement of the group for the 1st quarter of 2000 ended 31st March, 2000 which were reviewed by both the Auditor and our Audit Committee. The operating result of the group for this 1st quarter of 2000 is a profit of Baht337 million, higher than the profit of the same period last year by over twenty percent. The increase of our profitability, despite the fact that we have changed our accounting policy on the way we amortize the costs of "Plays Charges" (which we informed you by a separate letter) which has pushed our costs of sales up by Baht 77 million, is the direct result of the increase over 40% of our sales revenues over the same period of last year. The additional revenues came from an increase in volume of business, from the increase of our air-time rate during the evening news slot (up 25%) since last October, from the increase of our air-time rate during the super-prime slot (up 10%) since March, and from the BEC-Tero's show revenues organized around the end of March. As the increase of our revenues were much higher than the inflation of costs and expenses which were mostly fixed in nature, thus the profit of the group improved.
