August 16, 1999 To : President The Stock Exchange of Thailand Re : Submission of financial statements for the 2nd quarter of 1999. Enclosures : Financial statements for the 2nd quarter of 1999. We are sending you herewith the enclosed financial statement of the Company and the consolidated statement of the group for the 2nd quarter of 1999 ended 30th June, 1999. The operating result of the group for this 2nd quarter of 1999 is a profit of Baht284 million. It is 18.4 percent better than the previous quarter, but still 17.6 percent lower than the same quarter last year. This is because of the big drop of our interest income caused by the much lower down of the interest rates in the market compare with last year. Even our operating profit increased as a result of better sales revenue and lower operating costs and expenses but the improvement of our operating profit is not yet able to cover such a big drop of our interest income, thus the net profit declined from that of the same period last year.
