Enclosures: Financial statements for the 1st quarter of 2004
We are sending you herewith the enclosed financial
statement of the Company and the consolidated statement of the
group for the 1st quarter of 2004 ended 31st March 2004, which
were reviewed by both the Auditor and our Audit Committee.
The BEC World group was able to improve its operating
results for the 1st quarter of 2004 higher than that of the
previous quarter by Baht70 million (19.4%) to Baht431 million,
from the improvement of profitability of our other activity.
However, this is still lower than that of the same period of
last year by 20.5% or Baht 111 million, because of the increases
in costs due to the introduction of additional local drama in
the afternoon, the switching back to local drama during the
super-primetime replacing the Chinese series and the release
of our not-so-success movie "The Siam Renaissance" and this
year the group does not have the tax benefits that it enjoyed
last year.
